About data connections

You can connect to data sources on various server types and use them to create datasets.

You can add and manage connections to the following data sources:

  • Relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, IBM DB2, and others
  • Amazon Web Services, such as Amazon Athena, Amazon, Redshift, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Aurora
  • Microsoft Azure, such as Azure Synapse and Azure SQLGoogle Cloud, such as Google Cloud SQL and Google AlloyDb
  • Snowflake, MongoDB, SingleStore, and many other cloud databases
  • Data files (automatically added when you upload a file when creating a dataset)

You can add a data connection in two ways:

  • Directly from the Data connections pane
  • During the creation of a dataset
