About data connections
You can connect to data sources on various server types and use them to create datasets.
You can add and manage connections to the following data sources:
- Relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, IBM DB2, and others
- Amazon Web Services, such as Amazon Athena, Amazon, Redshift, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Aurora
- Microsoft Azure, such as Azure Synapse and Azure SQLGoogle Cloud, such as Google Cloud SQL and Google AlloyDb
- Snowflake, MongoDB, SingleStore, and many other cloud databases
- Data files (automatically added when you upload a file when creating a dataset)
For the whole list of supported data sources, see Data sources.
You can add a data connection in two ways:
- Directly from the Data connections pane
- During the creation of a dataset
