Use filter widgets
After you add a filter widget to a storyboard page, you can apply it to one or several visualizations at the same time.
Prerequisites
- You added at least one filter widget to the storyboard. For details, see Add filter widgets.
- The storyboard page where you have the filter widget is open.
Procedure
To filter a visualization, perform one of the following actions, depending on the filter type that you defined:
- For the Dropdown filter – Click the down arrow, and then select one of the dimensions in the dropdown list.
- For the Multi select filter – Click one or several dimensions in the list.
- For the Single select filter – Click one item in the list.
For the Expression filter – Enter a mathematical expression, as described for this filter type in Add filter widgets.
Only the selected categories will be shown in the visualizations. The visualizations are filtered in real time according to your selections.
Note: You can use filters in both view and edit mode.
(Edit mode only) If you have one filter widget with one or several filters added and you want to reset all of them, point to More options on the filter toolbar, and then click Reset filters.
If you want to reset a specific filter, perform one of the following actions:
- For the Dropdown filter – Click the down arrow, and then select No selection in the dropdown list.
- For the Multi select filter – In front of the filter title, click Clear selection. Alternatively, you can click the selected values in the list to remove them.
- For the Single select filter – Click No selection.
- For the Expression filter – In front of the filter title, click Clear selection. Alternatively, you can delete the mathematical expression, then press Enter.
