Change the data role
When you create a dataset, the source data is automatically profiled. As a result, the system identifies the role of data in each column. Data can be classified as follows:

For each data source, check if the data roles are identified correctly. In some situations, you may need to change the data role.
Prerequisites
- You are creating or editing a dataset.
- The Step 2 – Refine page or Step 3 – Join and preview is open.
Procedure
Depending on the step of dataset creation, follow the steps in the corresponding section:
Step 2 – RefineClick a table of the data source.
For a column, click the current data role icon and select the needed data type from the list.
Note: The
Date and 
Time data roles cannot be changed.
Step 3 – Join and previewOpen the data source table section.
For a column, point to
More options > Change role, and then select the needed data type from the list.

Date and Time data roles cannot be changed.
