Tab settings
Use the Tab Settings dialog to define tab settings, add quick links, and secure the tab that is selected.
To open this dialog, open an application, select a tab, and then go to Tab > Settings.
To apply the changes from this dialog, click OK, and then save the application (File > Save).
To make the changes available to consumers, publish the application (File > Save and Publish).
In the Tab Settings dialog, the following tabs are available:

Use this tab to define general settings for the selected tab.
Item | Use this item to |
---|---|
View ID | View identification number of a tab. This ID is created automatically and cannot be edited. |
Name | Enter a tab name to identify its content (for example, “Sales”, “Finance”, or other). |
Description | Enter a description of a tab. In the published application, the description appears when you point to the tab. |
Access restricted | View whether security restrictions are enabled for a tab. If access is restricted, then you narrow down the application users who can access this particular tab on the Security tab. If no groups or roles are added, then the tab cannot be accessed at all. |

Use this tab to define quick links for a tab. For details, see Add quick links to a tab.
Item | Use this item to |

URL | Enter a URL (including protocol) that you want to have as a quick link. |
Label | Enter a label for the added URL. After clicking Add, the label with the URL in parentheses appears under the Quick links section of this tab. |
Quick links | View and remove quick links that are added to the selected tab. To remove a link, point to it, and then click ![]() |

Use this tab to specify user groups or roles that can access the selected application tab.

Add | Search for user groups or roles, and then select specific groups and roles who are allowed to access this tab. After clicking Add, these groups and roles appear in the Groups/Roles section. |
Groups/Roles | View user groups and roles that have access to the selected tab. To remove a group or role from the list, point to it, and then click |
