Get started with DataClarity Platform

The followings steps can guide you through the whole process from installation to data analysis.

Install & Activate

  1. Verify you meet all the installation prerequisites and prepare the environment.

    See Before you installSystem requirements.

  2. Choose one of the on-premise installation methods: Kubernetes or Docker Compose.

    See Installation methods.

  3. Activate the DataClarity Platform with your license.
    See Manage licensing

 Add users

  1. You can add users by using different authentication methods. Either create users locally in Access Manager or integrate a database with users:

  2. Authorize users or groups by assigning the corresponding roles (a set of permissions).

For details, see the following articles:

Configure the system

  1. If you are importing users from LDAP, you may need to configure its TLS/SSL certificate.

    See TLS/SSL Certificates.

  2. You may review the list of the configurable services and adjust the settings as needed.

    See Configure the platform's services.

  3. (Optional) Customize the look & feel for some UI components.

 Connect to data sources

  1. Identify the data that you need in the data sources, obtain the connection details, and create data connections.

If you want to use the files or spreadsheets, ensure that you prepare them properly.

  2. Share data connections to all the users who plan to use them for datasets.

You may restrict access to the connections by setting corresponding permissions.

  3. If the data sources use a secure connection (SSL), you will need to import the corresponding certificates into DataClarity.

    See TLS/SSL Certificates.

 Prepare and refine datasets

  1. To analyze your business data, you need to create a dataset.

You can add a dataset from data files, databases, or enterprise data sources:

  2. You can explore the data, and then refine the dataset accordingly.

  3. You can share the dataset with other users.

 Create storyboards

  1. A storyboard is a canvas for your widgets.

    See Add a new storyboard.

  2. Add widgets to start analyzing the business data:

    • Choose suitable widget types to present your business data. A storyboard page can include visualizations, pictograms, and other widgets.
    • Configure the widget settings.

Share & embed storyboards
